    Join us as we continue our September series, "OVERTIME." Kids are learning to go "ABOVE AND BEYOND" throughout their series in KidTown through high energy worship, teaching, games and more! On Sunday, September 18, Pastor Duane VanderKlok of Resurrection Life Church will be joining us for all three services. On Thursday, October 13th Christian artist Carman will be joining us live in concert! Doors open at 6PM, event begins at 7pm. Tickets for preferred seating are available.     Art Comp Opening Reception

    The Chesterton Art Center will host the Opening Reception to the 2016 Art Comp juried exhibit this Sunday, September 11 from 2-4. The show will include pieces from local artists that were selected from over 100 entries.     September 13 we are hosting Packable Vegan Lunches. Come and learn how to put together some vegan on the go lunches. Chickpea Salad on crackers, Lentil Taco salad, Fall Buddah bowl and more. The cost of the class is $7 and tickets must be purchased at the store, prior to the class. On September 20, our free event is Foods to Ease the symptoms of PMS and Menstrual symptoms. On September 27 & October 4 we will host Vegan Breakfast Ideas. We will be cooking up Vegan French toast, Protein balls, Breakfast sausage, and more.     The 5th Annual Hooked on Art Live Street Art festival is a family-friendly event that fuses the community around the visual and performing arts. Held Saturday, Sept. 24 at Thomas Centennial Park in Chesterton, Hooked on Art features street chalk art competitions, live music, delicious food cooked by local churches, talented artists demonstrating their craft and selling unique artwork and creative activities for kids of all ages.

    2nd Annual Crazy Legs Race Series

    Sunday, September 25 @ 9:00 am 

    Join us for the 2nd Annual Crazy Legs Race Series' 'Stache Dash 4-Miler! The race will be a 2-mile out and back course on paved streets and the Brickyard Trail with a start/finish line at Community Center at Hawthorne Park. The race will begin at 9:00am and awards will be distributed at the Community Center following completion of the course. Part of the proceeds from race registrations will benefit the Town of Porter Park Department Playground Fund. Cost is $20 before September 12 and $25 after. This event is made possible by a partnership between the Crazy Legs Race Series and the Town of Porter Park Department.

The Field Station is committed to teaching preschoolers about the natural world around them and providing the opportunity to experience nature.
