This workshop will cover the basics of oil painting by explaining the different materials, what to look for in brushes, mediums, painting surfaces, and the difference between professional and student grade paints. Using demonstrations, lectures, painting from simple still lifes and your own photos, and personalized one-on-one instruction, you will learn how to see like an artist and paint shapes to create the illusion of objects and form. Mark will show you how to work with oils instead of against them, so you will feel more comfortable when approaching your next painting. Students bring their own supplies and sack lunch, materials list will be provided prior to the session.
