• Popular Books to Discuss The Wright Brothers on January 7 at the Thomas Branch

    December 14, 2018
Westchester Public Library invites readers to participate in Popular Books, a book discussion
group, which takes place on the first Monday of each month at the Thomas Branch’s Bertha
Wood Meeting Room, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton.
This month, Popular Books meets on Monday, January 7, at 2:00 p.m., and will discuss The
    Wright Brothers by David McCullough.
On a winter day in 1903, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, two unknown brothers from
Ohio changed history. But it would take the world some time to believe what had happened: the
age of flight had begun, with the first heavier-than-air, powered machine carrying a pilot. Who
were these men and how was it that they achieved what they did? David McCullough, two-time
winner of the Pulitzer Prize, tells the surprising, profoundly American story of Wilbur and
    Orville Wright.
The next meeting of Popular Books will be on Monday, February 4. We will be discussing It's All
Relative-Adventures Up and Down the World's Family Tree by A J Jacobs.
For more information, visit or call the Thomas Branch, (219) 926-7696.
