• Friends of Hospice partner with local businesses to raise funds for Hospice of the Calumet Area through Special Fashion Event

    MUNSTER, January 20, 2020 – The Friends of Hospice, the fundraising auxiliary for Hospice of the Calumet Area,  has partnered with Towle Theater and Vanis Salon & Day Spa to present the 6th Annual Friends & Fashion Style Show.
    The event will be held on Sunday, February 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Patrician Banquets in Schererville.  The lively and stylish event will consist of a wine and cheese reception sponsored by Johnson Brothers of Indiana and E.&J. Gallo Winery, boutique shopping, luncheon and style show presented by Towle Theater’s Jeff Casey and Kevin Bellamy and Limelight Entertainment. Pete Doherty of Doherty Images will be donating his time and talent to capture the spirit of the event, photographing our models and the event.
    This year the show will have a special twist featuring authentic 50s fashion.  The Towle Theater started its collection of 1950s fashion when it first produced A Fabulous 50s Christmas in 2003 and has been adding to the collection every year since through generous donations and carefully selected purchases. Modeling this stellar collection will be Hospice of the Calumet Area nurses, volunteers and board members with hair and make-up generously donated by Vanis Salon & Day Spa.
    Tickets are on sale through January 29 and cost $40 per person or $400 to reserve a table of 10. Sponsorships are also available.

Through warm, congenial friendship and fundraising, these local women and some men volunteer their time and talent to support the caring mission of Hospice of the Calumet Area: serving individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.  Membership includes over 250 supporters who live in northwest Indiana and Illinois, as well as Arizona and Florida, and with contributions over the years totaling more than $1,500,000.
