Smart 911 is a FREE service that allows you to share valuable information with 9-1-1 Emergency Call Centers during an emergency. The Hageman Branch will host a “Smart 911” information session during this month’s Inquiring Minds on Thursday, September 12, from 1 – 2 p.m. This service can be used from a landline or cell phone and provides information about yourself, family members, your home, pets and even vehicles which can save critical seconds or even minutes during an emergency.
Sue Baugher, a 26 year veteran of the Porter County Dispatch Center, and Tactical Telecommunicate Response Instructor, will provide information to attendees on setting up this service. Multiple numbers can be linked to your profile. Your profile is maintained by you and is private and secure.
Registration required. You can register by calling 926-9080 or stop by the Hageman Branch, located at 100 Francis St., Porter.
