Porter County residents are encouraged to participate and join in on the celebration.
Compost loading is free at the Valparaiso Compost Site during May 2nd through May 7th (Monday-Saturday) from 9am to 12pm CT. First come first served. The Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County will load one truck per day, for a maximum of nine cubic yards per day.
Mulch loading is free at the Valparaiso Compost Site during May 2nd through May 7th from 12:30pm to 2pm CT.
Across the Portage Compost site, mulch and compost loading is also free during May 2nd through May 7th from 8am to 11am and 12pm to 2pm CT. Please note Saturday (May 7) hours for compost and mulch loading at the Portage Compost Site are 10am to 2pm CT.
