Uesco Cranes, the Alsip-based overhead cranes manufacturer, donated $3,610 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana at a check presentation ceremony. Uesco Cranes president Ryan Marks said the funds were raised as part of the company’s 100-year celebration and will support the youth development organization’s work in the region.
“I live in Northwest Indiana and am fortunate to have a family of my own. As a parent who goes to work every day, it’s important to me for there to be the kinds of after-school services Boys & Girls Clubs offer,” Marks said. “Kids are lucky to have somewhere like BGC, and anything our organization can do to help with that is a blessing. We could not think of a better way to celebrate 100 years of business than coming together and donating to such a great cause.”
Boys & Girls Clubs president and CEO Ryan Smiley thanked Marks and Uesco Cranes employees for their generosity and congratulated them on 100 years.
“For them to reach out to us with a donation like this is an honor,” Smiley said. “Using their hundredth-anniversary celebration as a way to raise funds speaks to the kind of organization they are, and we are grateful to have them as a friend.”
Uesco Cranes was founded in 1921 and remains family-owned and operated. The company’s OEM products include single girder, double girder, top running and under running overhead crane systems, single and double girder dual motor gantry cranes, and complete runway systems.
