Westchester Public Library presents two matinee films during the month of January. Judy, will take place on Sunday, February 2, at 1:30 p.m., and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will be screened on Saturday, February 29, at 3 p.m. Both films will be shown in the Baugher Center, located at 100 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton. Attendance is free of charge. Enjoy complimentary popcorn while watching the movies.
In Judy, showbiz legend Judy Garland arrives in Swinging London to perform a five-week sold-out run at The Talk of the Town. It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through. In Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, a sequel to the 2014 global box office hit, Maleficent travels to a grand old castle to celebrate young Aurora's upcoming wedding to Prince Phillip. While there, she meets Aurora's future mother-in-law -- a conniving queen who hatches a devious plot to destroy the land's fairies. Hoping to stop her, Maleficent joins forces with a seasoned warrior and a group of outcasts to battle the queen and her powerful army. Maleficent and Aurora are pulled apart to opposing sides in the Great War, testing their loyalties and causing them to question whether they can truly be family. This movie is rated PG, and has a running time of 118 minutes.
